If you want to brew strong tea, steep tea for approximately 5-8 minutes. If you want to brew tea that’s more weak, steep your tea for around 4-5 minutes. Steeping tea only for 2 minutes will give you a weak tea, while steeping for 10 minutes will make it too dark and bitter. Steeping tea for the right amount of time will produce a strong, flavorful brew.

I’ve been asked many times about whether it’s better to brew tea with boiling water or cold water, and the answer is it depends on what you’re looking for in your brew. Generally speaking, boiling water will extract more bitterness or harsher flavors, while cold water will allow for more delicate flavors to develop. Try them both and see which you like best!
